Hey there fellow mighty speck of stardust, welcome to my blog. I'm Sarah, I'm an artist and I am more than happy to announce that little fact to the world!
I may not be an artist in some people's opinions but that is their problem, not mine. I paint, I draw, I sculpt, I write, I make music and sketchbooks, I build worlds, and pluck characters from my imagination. I create. That makes me an artist.
I wholeheartedly enjoy being creative. Personally, I think it is an extremely important part of life and I will always, always encourage anyone to give it a go. My children are growing up knowing the benefits of creativity as well as the "failure" that can come along with it. And when I say failure, I don't mean not living up to someone else's standards or expectations. I mean not living up to your own. Whether it's not being able to see something through to fruition or not being able to get that awesome vision in your head onto the canvas, no matter how hard you try. It's frustrating as hell but it's all good. It's food for the creative soul, it's how we learn, how we grow.
And for those of you out there who think it's beyond your capability or it's a waste of time... Have you tried it? It can be therapeutic, it can be an escape, it can be freedom, it can be a realisation, it can be so many things and that's what makes it wonderful. Your creativity is unique to you and that is beautiful.
